Can you inform us if there has been any guidance in regard to AFC’s being completed and do they require PPE to be used.

Hi Anita,

Thanks for getting in touch. The following is an extract from the ‘How to use this guidance’ section of the platform:
“Under exceptional circumstances, we accept that prisons may need to cease searching, Accommodation Fabric Checks, MDT and other core security processes to prioritise the four key regime priorities.”

All activities should adhere to social distancing guidance. Where an activity which cannot adhere to social distancing guidance is deemed essential, the Safe Operating Procedure for Operational Tasks found in the SOP Section of the A-Z gives guidance on how this can be done safely. A definition of essential is also included in the SOP.

Hopefully this answers your question? Please don’t hesitate to contact us if not.

Cheers

Mike

Hi Ralph,

Thanks for getting in touch. The delivery drivers search guidance relates only to visual checks. If it is considered essential for staff to be searched for any reason, there is a Safe Operating Procedure for Operational Tasks which should be used for any operational task where social distancing guidelines cannot be adhered to and the appropriate PPE to be used. As stated in the SOP, Essential means that there is a substantial and immediate risk arising from NOT undertaking the task.

Hopefully this helps, please contact us again if not.

Cheers

Mike
