Page 9 refers to suspect case as does page 13 and 17.
I thought contact tracing was for confirmed cases only

Hi Sandra,

Thanks for getting in touch and apologies for the delay in replying.

The author of the guidance has stated that the intention is that suspected cases should be tested and if found positive, contacts traced. They have advised they are looking to clarify this in the next version of the guidance.

I have checked v2 and your point still stands so i will raise again.

Cheers

Mike

If a potential contact is from another establishment (for example covering a bedwatch), would the establishment with the positive case submit the annex C to their local HPT and await sign off or would the establishment the contact traced staff is based at submit it to their local HPT for sign off?

Hi Sara,

Thanks for getting in touch. Great question.

In this situation we would:

1) Flag it to the HPT and ask them to inform the respective HPT in the right area ( in the same way as if it was a community contact)
2) Inform the CTL at the home establishment (we can identify them through COVID19.Regimes&OpsGuidance@justice.gov.uk if needed).

I hope this helps? If you have any further questions, pelase send them to the email address above and we will do our best to asssit.

Sian
